Easton St. Faiths equalise with last kick off the match
Scole Vets entertained Easton St. Faiths at Ransome Avenue, looking for a third consecutive win in the league. With a much changed side and players filling in, Scole got off to a slow start. The visitors dominated early possession, but without creating much in the way of clear cut chances. Scole were very scrappy and gave away too much possession, but took the lead when Michael Earrye's cross actually found the back of the net. Minutes later, Scole were 2 up, when defensive confusion allowed Barrett to side foot home from close range. The visitors pulled a goal back soon after when Scole failed to clear their lines, but went into the break 2 goals down, keeper Steve Bartram firing home from the spot after brother Simon had been pulled down.
The second half opened with Scole looking in control, but chances to add to the lead were few, notably Simon Bartram hitting the post. The visitors pulled a goal back midway through the half, a mis-hit free kick from the right wing somehow drifting into the far top corner. The game now became much more intense with the visitors pushing for an equalizer and Scole defending deeper and deeper. With time running out, Midwinter blazed over the bar, which proved costly as the visitors got a deserved equaliser right on time.
A hard fought battle with honours even at the end.
