Scole Vets start new year with a bang
Whittaker hat-trick on debut
Scole Veterans welcomed bottom side Swaffham Town to Ransome Avenue, looking to continue their unbeaten run. Scole dominated early possession and took an early lead through Ruddock. However, a few minutes later, the visitors were given the chance to equalise via a dubious penalty decision. Steve Bartram
saved well and the rebound was put wide. There on after it was all Scole. Partridge should have added a second, glancing a header wide, before Manning made it two. Derek Midwinter
added a third and debutant Whittaker a fourth with his first touch coming off the bench. Scole led 4-0 at the break, but got caught out twice early in the second half by the visitors on the break. Whittaker then added two more before Swaffham came back again with their third. Barrett added two more and should have also had a hat-trick, but pushed his effort wide. A good all round performance, apart from switching off early in the second half, Scole return to the top of the table with a game in hand.
