Despite creating chances the reserves lose at home to hard working Harling
The reserves at home for the first time since August lost their second league game of the season against mid-table East Harling.
Scole started well and Kieran Manning had an early one-on-one with the keeper but his shot was not strong enough and the keeper palmed away. Scole kept prodding away but could not find an opening whilst Harling gradually grew in confidence and their string front 2 were giving Ben Cussons and Lee Tricker at the back a few things to think about with their strong running. Harling pushed Scole out of their stride and with 15 minutes gone Harry Brookes with nowhere to go tried a back pass to Josh Goodwin but a striker nipped in to beat the keeper and the ball was tapped into an empty net as Tricker desperately tried to clear. Manning then found himself just inside the box and he was upended for a clear penalty. Manning stepped up to beat the keeper although he got a good hand to the shot to make it all square. Scole should have gone on from their but as Harling attacked a ball fell on the edge of the area and a midfielder shot cleanly into the corner of the goal. Scole stiull had time to create a couple of chance to equalize before halftime but could not take them.
The second half was a battle between who wanted to win the game more and that team was Harling who to their credit kept Scole at bay although Manning had the best chance of the game when Cussons teed him up with just the keeper to beat but his first time shot went over which probably showed his rustiness of games played. Scole changed formations to try and psuh for the equaliser but it just did not come and harling went away very happy with all 3 points.
