Reserves back to winning ways
First half Tom Green hat-trick sees Scole home
Scole were forced into a pre-match re-shuffle as Ben Cussons pulled up in the warm up and Matt Heuschneider started alongside Marcus Rolingson at centre-half. This did not seem to affect Scole although the back 2 had to work hard to counter Harlings long through balls through the middle. It was Scole who had most possession and the visitors keeper ex Scole player Josh Goodwin-Tallants was the busier of the 2 keepers. Scole were falling into the trap of playing the ball too long as well at times but when they did get the ball down to feet created several half-chances. The opening goal came after 18 minutes when good play between Matt Anderson and Nathan Doe on the right provided a cross into the box where Tom Green headed home. Green added a second a few minutes later when his scuffed shot fooled the keeper and he hit home in virtually an empty net.Scole's keeper Steve Bartram made a sharp save down at his right post and his distribution was a great help during the game.
Scole were rampant at this point and further goals could have been scored but Green completed his trick on 31 minutes to put Scole well in control. Scole however thought it was job done and lost concentration and Harling went down the middle again and the forward slotted past Bartram. Scole upped their game again and grabbed abother toward the end of the half when Rolingson poked home after a goalmouth scramble to put Scole 4-1 up at half-time.
the expected goal glut in the second half did not materialise as Harling dug in and Scole looked content to hold onto their lead. As Harling grew in confidence during the half they started to push Scole back a bit and Heuschneider came off with a knock and Green showing his all round versatility dropped into centre-half.
There was a lot of huffing and puffing But Jordan Walters got his name on the team sheet after his first effort hit the post he followed up on the rebound to slot home Scole's fifth and finally ensure the home teams 3 points. Ali Bannon a late replacement for Cussons came on as sub and nearly netted a gory goal for himself but was denied by the feet of Goodwin_Tallants.
Back on track with 3 points but 2 tough games to follow and availability of players will be key with 8 teams very close in the league consistency will be important.
Man of the match: Brendan Head looked strong at right back but Tom Green with a hat-trick and versatility gets him the plaudits this week.
