Reserves Home Draw
2 goal Kieran Manning not enough to give Scole a win
Scole welcomed Newton Flotman to Ransome Avenue for their last home game of the season. With the now normal several changes to the squad and players playing out of position it was hard for Scole to find any rhythm at the start and Flotman had the upper hand. Once Scole started to get used to each other they began to take control but without really creating too many chances.
The deadlock was broken when Kieran Manning, playing in central midfield, was able to push forward and found himself with space in the penalty area to coolly beat the keeper. Scole went in at half-time 1-0 up and felt there was plenty more to build on. Unfortunately they came out of the blocks slowly for the second half and Flotman with their first attack equalised as Scole failed to clear.
Scole got themselves back in front when Kieran Manning was again unmarked in the box and ignoring offside appeals from Flotman fired home for and Scole's second. Scole pushed on but unfortunately spurned several chances to create a 2 goal lead. This cost them dear as Flotman pushed forward with their number 8 showing some great flair and a through ball was slotted home past keeper Ollie Howard for their second equaliser.
Flotman had their tails up and they were the only team who looked like scoring towards the end but Scole held on for a draw in a game they felt they should have had sewn up.
Man of the match: Samuel Seymour-Blackburn - the 17 year old looking solid at right back throughout.
