Reserves Away Days Blues
Disciplined performance but no points
Scole reserves with late call offs Saturday morning were able to field a patched up side of 11 players with another 2 new signings and a lat call up for Rob Fuller.
In a first half dominated by the home side chasing the title and promotion Scole were disciplined in their play and some great goalkeeping from Josh Goodwin-Tallants kept Boro at bay. The lively forward line were causing problems for Scole but they were not able to find the net, unfortunately when they did the visiting linesman had already flagged for offside earlier in the move. Probably the best chance of the half however fell to Scole when Max Turner pur Rob Fuller through but he was just unable to hit the target. With captain Sean Taylor off the field getting treatment Scole managed to hold Boro off until halftime at 0-0.
Unfortunately Boro's first attack of the second half saw Goodwin-Tallants make a superb save and the ball going back across the area fell to a Boro striker for him to slot home. A couple of minutes later and Boro scored a second with a worldy from 20 yeards plus. Scole however pushed forward and David Kawa's strong header from a corner pulled a goal back. Another goalmouth scramble saw the third and Scole began to tire as 2 more goals were added before the final whistle.
Scole did well to get a team out on the pitch and hopefully we can pull a few players together for the run in.
Man of the match: Josh Goodwin-Tallants who made a string of fine saves.
