Reserves Suffer Again
Poor finishing lets Poringland into game
Scole started the game well and and looked in complete control just waiting for the breakthrough, unfortunately having created 4 or 5 very good chances they were unable to get the important opening goal to boost confidence. The home keeper was making some great stops and some wayward shots added to the problem and then after 20 minutes with their first effort on target a fierce shot from 20 yards bounced in front of keeper Josh Goodwin and the ball ended in the back of the net. Poringland with their tails up added a second a few minutes later and Scole could not believe that they were 2 down. The game started to get niggly and Scole lost any momentum and confidence whilst Poringland upped their game and were then well up for a battle.Scole started to get back into it towards the end of the half but could not get the goal they desereved before half-time.
Going up the slope in the second half Scole felt that they could get something out of the game but after 15 minutes another sloppy goal as the ball somehow squeezed between Goodwin and a post for the home team's third. Matt Heushneider having a battle in the middle of the park, verbally and physically, pushed forward and his fierce shot from the edge of the area beat the keeper to get Scole back into it. Unfortunately Poringland went almost straight up the otehr end and scored a fourth and soon added a fifth before Heushneider's powerful header from a corner got another consolation for Scole.
A dissapointing result considering the chances created in the first half but we need to keep confidence and go again.
