The 1st team's terrible run of form continued with a poor performance at bottom side Holt United. A win would have almost ensured Scole's place in division one next season and at the same time almost certainly relegated the North Norfolk side. However on the day this was 2 very poor sides with Holt just about having the edge in fighting spirit and will to win that saw them run out winners. Big thanks to the 2 hardy souls Bill & Dave who travelled from Scole to support the lads but saw our worst showing this season. After a very slow start Scole took the lead in the 25th minute when Will Goulding converted a spot kick won by Luke Ashford who was upended when on a mazy foray into the oppositions box. However the lead was very short lived and Holt duly won a corner from the kick off and poor defending allowed the ball to be bundled in following a goal line clearance.
Things improved slightly when Scole reverted to 4-4-2 in the second half and Tom Green was pushed upfront from centre back to partner Goulding upfront. But the relief was short lived when Holt once again scored a scrappy goal from a corner when Scole switched off! Scole had a chance when a Dave Coleman shot was somehow turned over by the Holt keeper but that was about all they could muster!
Scole have the opportunity for revenge when Holt come to Ransome Avenue in a couple of weeks time in what now becomes Scole's biggest game of the season!
Player of the match this week was goalkeeper Ben Buckmaster without whom things could have been a lot worse!
