"Scole dominate for 70 mins then end up holding on....!"
By Alan Boulter
Scole United fc 2 v 1 Bradenham Wanderers Fc (match sponsor John Doe of Diss)
Scole faced Bradenham for the 3rd time this season with honours even in the County & League cups with a win apiece. It says a lot for the strength of Scole's youngsters coming through that they could absorb the loss of 4 regular 1st team players by promoting 2 more teenage reserves in Joe Andrews & Callum Boulter for their 1st taste of Senior football this season. Scole started off on fire and put the visitors on the back foot from the off. Brad Hunt hit the bar and then forced the keeper into a good save from a powerful diving header in the opening 10 minutes and Ben Norton-Hugman had a close effort just over the bar. Josh Lucraft broke the deadlock with a cracking finish from outside the area following good work from Joe Hooton down the right wing. Hunt could have doubled the lead on half hour when he was through with a one on one but the next goal came from an Adam Solley bullet header from a trademark Lucraft pinpoint corner. Scole should have put the game to bed and had numerous chances to seal the 3 points but they let Bradenham back in with a hotly disputed goal on 75 minutes. This led to a frantic and nail-biting last 15 minutes for the home side who managed to hold on for a very deserved win to move them up to 4th place in the Anglian Combination Premier Division.
