"1st team secure 4th place with a good away win at Loddon"
Loddon United 0 v 4 Scole United
Scole travelled to George Lane, Loddon on Tuesday evening with a strong squad and an incentive to secure at least 4th place in Division 1 with a win. They achieved this without to much fuss in what was in fairness a pretty lacklustre game. Scole started strong and Alex Blakeley came close with a header from a Josh Lucraft
corner on 3 minutes. Seconds later Lucraft opened the scoring with a sublime 25 yard effort into the top corner. Scole pressured from then on in and wasted several chances when just after the half hour mark a Loddon defender put past his own goalkeeper under severe pressure from Brad Hunt. With a comfortable looking lead Scole rung the changes in the second half and one of those substitutes scored goal number 3. Kieran Manning
was in the right place to finish after the keeper could only parry a James Harrison
cross shot. Scole's 4th was almost a carbon copy of number 2 with another own goal this time forced by pressure from Manning.
A solid performance and good to see another clean sheet from a strong Scole defensive line.
This sets Scole up for the season finale at home to relegation threatened but on form side Cromer Town on Saturday afternoon, 2.30 ko at Ransome Avenue. A win for the 'Yellows' will guarantee the 3rd place and with the promotion places still not confirmed this could be a crucial 3 points.
