'Scole back to winning ways at North Walsham'
North Walsham Town 0 v 4 Scole United
Scole United, looking to bounce back from last weeks defeat at Wymondham faced another tough away game at North Walsham Town. With long term absentees
David Coleman &
James Harrison back in the fold and big new signing
Alex Blakely making his debut the only players unavailable were James Grant & Lawrence Brown.
Scole started well on a heavy pitch with Walsham being typically tough and the referee seemingly struggling as he was being assessed. Scole were pinging the ball around well and the midfield 3 of
Ashley Baxter,
Ben Norton-Hugman and
Alex Blakely were dominating the centre of the park. The opening goal was a scrappy affair when a good Baxter corner found
Kieran Manning and his scuffed shot fell to Norton-Hugman who directed it goalwards where the Walsham keeper went awol after calling for his defender to leave it. The game settled down and other than a couple of North Walsham bookings and former 'Angels' striker
Connor Kerry getting some rough treatment from his former team-mates it stayed as it was with Scole definitely shading it and deserving their lead.
Fans favourite Coleman replaced Manning on 58 minutes and a minute later a well delivered
Taylor Pooley free kick was bravely headed back across goal by Kerry for Baxter to get a strong head goalwards to double Scole's lead. It was a Coleman tackle that set up Scole's third when the ball fell to Baxter who carried it forward and let fly an unstoppable strike from outside the 18 yard box for his second of the day. Sub
Bradley Hunt made the fourth, a typically jinking run ended with a terrific bending cross that found the late arriving Blakely for a lovely worked debut goal.
A very good and efficient performance from Scole with everyone playing their part. This result shows that with a full strength squad available Scole still have the minerals to challenge for a promotion spot in this Division.
No game next week but at home to Attleborough Town on the 27th.
